In NW Yunnan province and Southwestern corner of Tibet is the Tibetan sacred mountain Kawa Karpo. The peak is known to Tibetans throughout the Himalayas as far east as Ladakh, as a sacred mountain. They revere it as the eastern most abode of Shri Chakrasamvara, also known as Khorlo Demchok. This same Buddhist deity is also thought to abide in Mt. Kailash-all beautiful pilgrimage mountains spread throughout Tibet. Kawa Karpo, at 6,740m, is today one of the highest unclimbed peaks in the world. This is a pigrimage khora taken by Tibetan Buddhists. Hidden in the foot of Mt. Kawa karpo, Yubeng village is stunningly beautiful and isolated. "This trip offers a surprising, stereotype-breaking, view of the New China blooming from spectacular scenic landscapes. The very fact that we had no worries about transfers, reservations, translation or wayfinding allowed us to gain a deeper insight and appreciation for the things we chose to experience whether that was the bird life, the wild flowers, the art, music or shopping. I finished the trip feeling very positive about China looking for a fresh and inspiring view of the world."

It was my third time to lead a group to trek in Mt. Kawagebo. As always Active China provided excellent services. Guide and driver were also excellent.
Flawless trip again.
