Yunnan is definitely one of the most ethnically fascinating and scenically stunning provinces in all of China. Home to 25 of Chinas minority groups and over half of all China's plant and animal species - it is easy to understand why Yunnan is highly favored by all kinds of travelers. On this biking journey you can expect extraordinary hill climbing and unique culture experience of the Wild West Tibetan town of Shangri_la. You will visit the largest yellow hat sect Tibetan lamasery where some 600 Tibetan monks are practicing Tibetan Buddhism. Experience the extraordinary natural wonder Jade Dragon Mountain and Tiger Leaping Gorge-the deepest gorge in the world with it's towering walls and dramatic beauty, meander along the majestic Yangzi River. You will also have a rest day in Lijiang-the world heritage town, We leave the plateau and down hill all the way to Shaxi, an extremely quiet and lovely village was once the center of the ancient caravan trading post. Our cycling trip finishes in Dali, the historical city and we will happy to relax in the laid back cobble stoned town of Dali where you can stroll around the local markets. Yunnan is no doubt a world class cycling destination!

 
Day 1 Kunming
We meet you at Kunming airport and then transfer to the hotel. (D)

Day 2 Kunming to Shangri_la (25 KM)
Take a flight to Shangri_la. Met and visit Sumzanlin Tibetan Monastery, Bike fitting and warm up ride around
Napa Lake.(B,L,D)

Day 3 Shangri_la to White Water Terrace (80KM)
Ride to Bai Shui Tai, two passes and long dscending.

Day 4 White Water Terrace to Tiger Leaping Gorge(74KM)
Ride to Tiger Leaping Gorge via Haba Village.
(B,L,D)

Day 5   Tiger Leaping Gorge to Lijiang(65KM)
Ride to Yangtse Valley and onto Lijiang.

Day 6  Lijiang
A rest day in Lijiang to explore the heritage town and around.

Day 7 Lijiang to Shaxi (90KM)
Ride into the heart of rural Yunnan to Shaxi Village.

Day 8  Shaxi Village
Ride to Stone Bell Hill and visit the grottoes, afternoon explore this lovely village.

Day 9 Shaxi to  Hot Spring town (88KM)
Cycle to Er Yuan Hot Springs.
(B,L,D)

Day 10  Eryuan to Dali (55KM)
Ride to historical Dali town.
(B,L,D)

Day 11  Dali to Kuming
Transfer to Kunming. Free afternoon.
Farewell dinner. (B,L,D)

Day 12 Kunming Onward
Trip ends after breakfast.(B)
